Its all too easy to start something and lose direction along the way. Life is hard. Constantly throwing curve balls at you meaning you have to change and adapt your plans. No one said life would be easy. But as we all know, if anything is worth having then its worth working hard and fighting for!
I have been incredibly fortunate to do what I do. Being a personal training is not about a single training session. It is being there on your journey. Through the ups and downs. Laughter and the tears. But one thing I am sure of, and that's the fact that together, we can get you to where you want to be. Be it drop a dress size or more. Tone up. Become healthier, fitter, faster and stronger. Lose or gain weight. Burn fat. And ultimately put you in the best position health wise which has a knock on effect to your mental health and ultimately improve many aspects of your life.
So, you can imagine how proud I am of the team I have working with me. The effort put in is unbelievable. It is clear that...
Well hello there my fellow fitness friends. Just thought I'd drop you all a little blog to hopefully educate you where so many have not been so lucky. We've all heard it before haven't we? 'What a great session, I'm starving. After all that hard work I can get away having burger and chips' etc. But unfortunately this is not the fact of the matter. The saying 'Abs are made in the kitchen' is, in my professional opinion hitting the nail on the head. What we do in the gym only triggers the bodies mechanisms to create change. If you were building muscle for example while you were training surely the gyms would be packed with people 12 hours a day every day? But we do not see these people. Purely and simply put, nutrition is vital to go alongside a good exercise plan.
24 hours in a day, and at most, many of us train for about 1 hour of this. In this hour we set the gears in motion of fat loss, muscle gain etc. By getting our bodies to register the stresses and strains that we go through in t...

Happy Christmas everyone, or as I also like to call it, CHEAT DAY!!!! Yep thats right, after 364 days of keeping pretty strict today is the all day cheat. Spending quality time with family and loved ones. Relaxing and enjoying each others company and reflecting on the year that is now coming to its end ready for the next chapter in our lives, 2017. So I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your love and support. You have all been amazing and have made a huge impact on my life. You give me the drive and the energy to be able to do what I do. To be able to work beside you all to push forward and not only meet targets but to destroy them. I am so proud of each and every single one of you for all our of your hard work, dedication, blood sweat and tears. I cannot tell you enough how pleased I am to be with you on y...
To all you fitness lovers out there. Christmas is fast approaching so time has been getting tighter with getting into the shopping for presents, school plays and getting ahead with your workloads ready for some much needed time out. So with this I would like to thank you all for letting me know if you are unable to attend some/any of the classes. And due to the majority of you being tied up I have decided to close all circuits except one location for the Christmas period. So as of now, ONLY STANTON will be active. Stantons last two dates this year are 15th December and 22nd December. Then after the new year Stanton and Lawshall will kick off again same time same days as of the 5th Jan :D Any questions please give me a shout.
Well, it's been a jammed back start to MA Personal Training and already things are going strength to strength (No pun intended) It is with great pride that I say this, as without the people around me right now, allowing me to help them meet their goals I would not be here. So thank you all so much for letting me be part of your journey no matter how big or small. Regardless, we are in it together and the results already have been astounding. Each and every one of you who has set a goal has destroyed it. The end goal is one step closer with each and every day that passes so please keep up the amazing work and remember, through hard work and determination comes great treasures.
So What now? Very soon I shall be releasing dates and locations for bootcamps for the new year. Contracts are just being finalised so those of you who have already requested a space on these I shall keep you posted as soon as more comes to light. 3 Locations to be released plus another in negotiation.
Well here it is, the news I have been waiting to release for a while now and finally I can. The paperwork has been signed, contracts sealed and plans well and truly in motion. As of the 1st of December I shall be working alongside the Bury Rugby club. Having access to the gym as well as selected areas of the grounds (Weather and time of season dependent)
The news comes after recent success from running village circuit training sessions and growing personal training client base. Already having access to 2 other gyms, now being able to work with the Rugby club allows me to offer an even broader selection of equipment and training strategies. Being from a sprinting background and having the expertise for strength and conditioning I hope to transfer these skills over to potentially help the teams progress in the coming future. Lots of ideas floating around at the moment so only time will tell where this leads but regardless, I shall do all I can to help members of the club new or old, as we...

What do you do when you fail in life? Fall down and break under the pressures and strains of the challenge ahead? Do you stay there and admit defeat? Allow the failure, the fall to remain what it is and give up? A failure is only a failure if you let it become one. A fall is only a fail when you refuse to get up. Make your decision.
For some people this 'fail'word is not in their dictionary and one prime example of that is the legend that is Mo Farah. Rio olympics 2016 10,000m final, the one time you do not want one of these possible fail opportunites to arise became what could have become the end of Farahs reign. But no. After stumbling and managing to avoid getting trampled on by other athletes Farah gets back up and within seconds does not look like anything had happened. He remains composed and relaxed, showing his drive and determination which ultimately pays off. When I say it paid off I dont mean he finished the race. I mean he finished the race AND WON GOLD!
Come on admit it ladies, at some point in your lives you have worried that lifting weights ect is going to end up putting hair on your chest, deepen your voice and give you arms bigger than popeye? Okay maybe thats a bit overkill but still, you must admit it that ALOT of women do fear getting hench rather than hitting there goals in other areas. In my opinion, if lifting weights really put on muscle and sixe that easily I'd be pretty damn big, but alas, its not that simple. So in respect to this 'fear', I have found a great little article which highlights a few myths and truths. So have a read, put your minds at rest and forget giving the dumbells a miss, they are friendly really. Enjoy
Women And Weights: 8 Myths Debunked!
By Cassie Smith

Myth 1 /// Women Shouldn't Train Like Men
TRUTH: Women should train however they want.
I'm not exactly sure what "training like a man" even means. Are deadlifts inherently masculine? I don't think I've ever seen a sign that says "...
